Youth held with Heroin

IMPHAL, Nov 25 : A team of Narcotic Cell Imphal West arrested one Laishram Surjit Singh (35) along with 33 vials containing Heroin this morning near Sagolband NRL pump.
According to a reliable information, Laishram Surjit was spotted and arrested acting on a specific information of drug peddlers in an around Sagolband Area.
Surjit was coming towards Tera Bazar from Wahengbam Leikai on a Honda Dio when he was stopped by the team of Narcotic Cell Imphal West near the NRL pump for verification and checking, said a police source. On spot verification, the detainee was identified as Laishram Surjit Singh of Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi Manipur. While searching the detainee in presence of a civil witness, the police team were able to detect 33 vials containing Heroin concealed inside a pink pouch inside the tool box of the scooter (Honda DIO), the source said.
The team subsequently arrested Surjit on the spot and seized the drug and the vehicle by observing formalities before handing over to Imphal PS for necessary legal action, the source continued.
