Youth conclave held

IMPHAL, November 21: A youth conclave participated by hundreds of youth supporters of Khagokpam Khamba, intending candidate of Khurai AC was held today at his residence in Khurai Awang Kongpal Laishram Leikai.
Speaking at the event, Khagokpam Khamba said youths are the pillar of the Nation and it is pertinent for the youths to be properly educated and keep them fit and healthy. However, various problems like drug abuse and corruption pose serious threats in the lives of the youths as such conditions will impact the grooming process of the youths to become a better citizen of the nation, he added.
He appealed to the youths to stay away from drugs and also expressed the need to frame stringent anti-drug laws. He added that he will work wholeheartedly in framing a stronger anti-drug law if he is elected as representative by the people of Khurai AC and promised that he will not be involved in any corruption and related activities.
In a modern world where computers play an important role, it is not enough for the youths to get educated but skill development is also very important as education coupled with various skills will solve the problem of unemployment, he added.
The programme was also attended by Thokchom Mangibabu, president central election committee of Khagokpam Khamba; Takhelmayum Nabachandra, advisor; Elangbam Manglem, working president; Lairenlakpam Ibo, vice president and members Md Lakhan, Md Rahman and core committee members Ngangbam Budhi as presidium members.
