Manipur University Day observed

IMPHAL, Nov 19: Pangal Political Forum (PPF) observed the 49th Manipur University Day today in a ceremony organised at Keirao Makting, Imphal West.
The event was attended by Alhaj Sahabuddin from Urup as chief guest; Md Jallaluddin, president All Round Development Organisation as president;  Abdul Kaher, president Keirao Kendra Minority Muslim Development Organisation and Alhaj Abdul Jalil, president KKECC as guests of honour.
 Members of All Round Development Organisation, Keirao Kendra Minority Muslim Development Organisation, Keirao Makting Muslim Women Organisation, Community Forward Organisation and Islamic Youth Coordinating Committee also attended the ceremony.
MI Khan, PPF spokesperson, addressed the gathering and expressed his appreciation towards the first Chief Minister of Manipur, Mohammed Alimudin who was responsible for the establishment of MU at Canchipur, an academic institution which has become an asset to over 30 communities across the State.
However, it is unfortunate that 4% reservation of seats  is not afforded to Meitei Pangal students in this institute, he added, and appealed for the same.
Further, MI Khan also urged the Government to establish a college especially for Meitei Pangal women. At the end of the ceremony, the attendees prayed for  former CM Md Alimuddin's soul to rest in peace.
