IMPHAL, Nov 11
The Department of Law, Manipur University organized the State Level Moot-Court Competition on 11 th November at 10 am at the Dept of Law, Manipur University under the sponsorship of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA).
In a statement released today, MASLSA stated that the competition was organized as a part of Pan India Legal Awareness and Outreach Programme under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority.
 Professor (Dr) Naorem Lokendra Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University; Ojesh Mutum, Member Secretary, Manipur State Legal Services Authority and Dr Yumnam Premananda Singh, Associate Professor, Head of Department, Manipur University graced the inaugural function as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively, the statement added.
Eight teams of law students from Dept of Law, Manipur University; LMS Law College, Imphal; Royal Academy of Law and Oinam Vishal Law Institute participated in the competition.
 S. Imocha Singh, Judge, Fast Track Special Court No 1, Manipur (POCSO) presided as judge of the competition.
The team from LMS College comprising of Huidrom Malemleima Chanu, Thongam Zingo, Lamabam Rebecca Devi was declared as the winner of the Moot Court Competition and the team from Dept of Law, Manipur University comprising of Carolin Yanglem, Angelina Naorem and R.K. Neena was declared as second position holder.
The statement further expressed gratitude to the Department of Law, Manipur University and all the law students for their support and participation in the competition.
