Legal awareness programme organised

A legal awareness programme and Lok Adalat was held today at Modern College in Imphal East district.
The programme was organised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal East and Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) in collaboration with Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) as part of Bharat ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, said a press release by DLSA, Imphal East.
The legal awareness programme was conducted on the topic 'Legal Rights of Women' and Dr Binota Meinam, Chairperson, MSCW, RK Memcha, District & Sessions Judge, Imphal East and Dr Oinam Premila, Principal, Modern College graced the programme as the presidium members.
Sarungbam Mangalleibi (MJS) and Th Rajkishore attended as the resource persons of the programme which was attended by students of Modern College and public members including aggrieved women whose complaints are pending before the commission, added the press release.
Three Lok Adalat benches were constituted for disposal of pre-litigation cases relating to family and matrimonial disputes.
