Manipur Loumi Lup decries fuel price hike

IMPHAL, Oct 30
Manipur Loumi Lup (MLL) has condemned the continuous increase in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG under the BJP Government.
A press release issued by MLL today has stated that the current BJP Administration is causing a great inconvenience especially to farmers, migrant workers and middle class population who are already reeling from the economic crisis brought on by the pandemic.
The inflation in prices of petrol and diesel have also led to a consequent increase in prices of other essential commodities, the statement added.
Further, this is creating problems for farmers who use machines that consume diesel for the purposes of harvesting, thrashing and transporting agricultural products.
 It may be mentioned that farmers were already suffering due to inadequate rainfall and untimely availability of urea and fertilizers. As a result, this inflation is posing a serious problem to an already burdened farmers' population.
Manipur Loumi Lup has, therefore, vehemently condemned this rise in prices and accused the Government of weaponizing these fuels as a means to rob the public.
