Book released
IMPHAL, Oct 30 : Social Welfare Director Ngangom Uttam announced that Rs 20 lakh has been deposited to the account of State Central Library to procure books written by local authors under the aegis of Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation.
He said this during a releasing ceremony of a book "Award One Lakh" penned by Mani Taiyenjam at Manipur Press Club today. Ng Uttam further stated that the State Central Library could not purchase books written by Manipuri authors in 2019 and 2020 due to certain issues.
The Director also expressed desire for the Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF) and other literary lups to thoroughly analyse the gradual decline of Manipuri language due to certain factors and work on it to save the language. The ceremony organised by PAWF was also attended by its president Naoroibam Khamba Luwang and patron member Konjengbam Dilip Singh. The insight of the newly released book was given by Dr Saratchandra Longjamba, Associate Professor at Dhanamanjuri University (DMU).
The author Mani Taiyenjam thanked PAWF for publishing the book and stated that their deed has encouraged him to write more books.
