UMMWDO appeals for official recognition

United Manipur Muslim Women's Development Organisation has made an earnest appeal to Chief Minister N Biren Singh to officially recognise the contribution of the Muslim women who participated in Nupi Lal 1939-1940 before the Nupi Lal Observation, 2021.
A press release issued by UMMWDO stated they had submitted a memorandum to the BJP Govt in 2017 and received assurance from the CM that their demand would be met before Nupi Lal 2018.  Further, UMMWDO submitted a written request to the Chief Secretary, Govt of Manipur on August 28, 2018 to conduct a through research on Muslim women's participation in Nupi Lal.
The statement added that the matter had reached IE SDO on February 4, 2019 but has since been stuck in red tape.
