Manipuri Poetry Day 2021 celebrated

IMPHAL, Oct 21
Department of English, St Joseph University, Nagaland in collaboration with Fiction and Poetry Club, Manipur observed Manipuri Poetry Day 2021 with a Poetry Reading Session on October 20 through Google Meet.
The event included a recitation of original poems by BA, MA, Alumni, Research scholar, and faculty of the Department of English, SJU, said a release.
Convened by Kinoka Yepthomi of BA V Semester, the programme was participated by 40 students from both graduated and post graduates.
Manipuri Poetry Day is observed in honor of the life and career of notable paragons of Manipuri literature and pay homage to the rich and unique literary tradition of the region.
It may be mentioned that the 5th Manipuri Poetry Day would be observed in Manipur as well as in other states and countries where Manipuri speaking people reside with the aim of popularizing and exposing Manipuri literature to the broader world.
