N Bupenda appointed

IMPHAL, Oct 16 : Congress president Sonia Gandhi has appointed Ningombam Bupenda Meitei as vice-chairperson of All India Fishermen Congress (AIFC) under the All India Congress Committee.
Earlier, Bupenda Meitei, who was brought to the Fishermen Congress by Rahul Gandhi before the 2019 Lok Sabha election, was looking after the fishermen congress in the entire 8 States of the North East India region.
He is also the spokesperson of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee.
Expressing his gratitude towards Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for entrusting the National responsibility on him, Bupenda tweeted, “I am grateful to Congress president, Sonia Gandhi ji, for giving me an opportunity to serve India by being a vice-chairperson of All India Fishermen Congress under All India Congress Committee.”
He also exuded confidence that  the fishing community and future of the fishing world will become better for India under the proactive leadership of chairman of AIFC and Lok Sabha MP, TN Prathapan.
“Without the inspiration of Rahul Gandhi ji and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra ji, my political journey would not have been possible today,” he further tweeted.
