Heroin seized at Sawombung

IMPHAL, Oct 17: A team of Narcotic and Affairs of Border, Manipur on October 16 at around 6 pm arrested four persons along with 50 soap cases containing 625 gram of Heroin No 4 powder from the western side of Sawombung Bridge, Imphal East.
According to sources, the arrested persons were identified as  Mangtinsat Lhungdim (24) S/o Chunglet Lhungdim of M Mollum Village, Churachandpur District; Thangminlal Baite (28) S/o Chomkhijang Baite of  Moreh Ward No VIII, Tengnoupal District; Chingsonnuam (27) W/o Chinkhantung of Zoumunnuam village, Churachandpur District and  Veineithem Gangte (31) W/o Kamlienlal Gangte of Ngamkhai Veng, Moulhoi Part-I, Moreh, Tengnoupal District.
The NAB team also recovered one Bolero car, three mobile phones, one Voter's ID and three Aadhaar cards from their possession.
It may be mentioned that the arrested individuals were reportedly part of a drug racket operating in Myanmar and Manipur. They stated that the seized Heroin No 4 was bought from Myanmar through a Burmese Drug Dealer to be delivered at a place in Imphal East.
A case has been registered with NAB PS in this regard for further investigation.
