Remanded to judicial custody

IMPHAL, Oct 16: The Special Judge POCSO, Imphal West has remanded an individual to judicial custody for allegedly molesting a physically disabled girl on September 11, 2019.
The accused, Nameirakpam Inaomacha alias Wareppa (49) of Singjamei Chingamakha Maisnam Leikai was produced before the Court today. The accused is a serving Manipur Police personnel currently posted at Police HQs.
As per the case submitted by the IO of the case, the family of the victim had lodged a complaint before the Women Police Imphal West that the accused had molested the victim at an unknown location and named Meitankeishangbam Mani (48) of Langol Game Village, Salam Boyai alias Iboyaima (48) and Salam ongbi Saikhom Manda Leima alias Mandakini of Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai as the accomplices.
The complainant also added that the victim was taken away from her house where she was staying with her grandmother and was brought back by Salam Ongbi Manda Leima the next day. The Court also granted anticipatory bail to Meitangkeishangbam Manikanta, Salam Boyai and Salam Manda Leima and set October 30 for the next hearing of the case.
