IMPHAL, Oct 14 : Manipur on Thursday witnessed the lowest daily count in the number of fresh Covid cases in nearly six months as the State logged 69 new infections. This is the lowest daily-case count since April 19, which saw 54 Covid cases.

As the new cases were detected from among the 2,780 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the daily positivity rate thus registered was 2.5 percent, which is considerably lower than 5.2 percent recorded on Wednesday. Kamjong is also the only district in Manipur that reported a positive rate in the past 24 hours in double digit.
With no death reported from the disease (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours, the death toll remains at 1889.
Today, 84 persons were also discharged from Home Isolation (14), RIMS (12), JNIMS (16) and CCCs (42), improving the recovery rate to 97.28 percent against 97.26 percent on Wednesday and reducing the active cases to 1,444.
