ECI writes to CSs

IMPHAL, Oct 14 : The Election Commission of India has written to the Chief Secretaries of five States going to polls in the early part of next year to ensure that no officer directly connected with elections are allowed to continue in the present district of posting, if he or she is posted in his/her home district, if he or she has completed three years in that district during the last four years or would be completing three years on or before March 31.
The five States going to polls early next year are Manipur, Goa, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
In Manipur the term of the present Government is up to March 19, 2022.
