Actress Leishangthem Tonthoi felicitated

IMPHAL, Jan 21
Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) Manipur Prant felicitated actress and National awardee Leishangthem Tonthoi Devi today at Nexa, Chingmeirong as a part of the weeklong observation of National Girl Child Day.
Tonthoi shared her life story and inspired the young girls to strive for success in one's preferred profession and to contribute in building a strong Nation.
She has won several awards including best female actor (Regional film category) for the film 'Pheejigi Mani' in 2011 and won best actor female (North East) for the film Patki Tharo (2016) and Eche Tampha (2018). She has also acted in Assamese films apart from Manipuri films.
Dr S Rajendra Singh, National vice president of BVP and Professor M Premjit Singh, patron of BVP graced the event as the presidium members.
As a part of the program, gift items such as stationery items, sanitary pads, eatables etc sponsored by M/S Eastern Motors were distributed to the participating girls and conducted a drawing competition as well.
H Joybi Devi spoke on Anaemia Free Bharat Campaign and thanked all the donors for sponsoring the gift items.
