Art exhibition

IMPHAL, Jan 20: The 40th Annual State Exhibition of Art commenced today at Manipur State Art Gallery, Palace Compound.
39 works of art by 33 artists are being displayed in the exhibition which includes paintings, sculptures, graphics and drawings.
Speaking as the chief guest, Commissioner of Art and Culture M Joy said that by seeing the displayed art works one feels that the socio cultural and political aspects of the current Manipuri society and lifestyle are being depicted in these art works and it also reflects the artist's emotions and experiences.
Stating that the contribution of artists is vital in bringing a change to the society he said that one should strive for positive and constructive change thereby instilling productive thoughts to the youths for a progressive society.
Further he called for collective efforts in all aspects for a developed Manipur.
