IMPHAL, Sep 6: The Hill Districts Private Schools’ Association, Manipur (HiDiPSAM) has once again appealed Government to revoke June 20 order on school fees issued by the Commissioner (Education-Schools) and issue a fresh order acceptable to all stakeholders-parents, teachers and school authorities within September 12.
In this connection, HiDiPSAM had approached the State Govt on several occasions to resolve the tuition fee-salary issue of private schools. It is unfortunate that repeated appeals from the side of the HiDiPSAM to resolve the impasse have fallen on deaf ears, it said in a statement today.
Stating that the delay on the part of the State Government and the Department concerned has adversely affected hills private schools, it said that the teachers who are engaged in teaching-learning process through online, WhatsApp etc are not able to make both ends meet as private schools have been barred from collecting tuition fees by the "lopsided" order of June 20. In addition to the hardships faced by private school teachers, the school managements are also hit hard.
If the Department concerned does not come out with an acceptable solution within September 12, HiDiPSAM would be compelled to collect the usual tuition fees for the lockdown months, wef April 2020 to pay the teachers, it said.
