Kumbi College celebrates 40th foundation day

BISHNUPUR, Sep 27: Kumbi College, the only college of Kumbi Assembly Constituency, Bishnupur district, celebrated its foundation day on completion of its 40th year, in the auditorium hall of the college.
The 40th foundation day celebration was graced by Manipur University Registrar, Prof W Chandbabu Singh, Kumbi College governing body chairman and National Awardee m Mangi Singh and ex-Minister N Mangi Singh as the chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.
Paying respect to the founders of the college, floral tributes were paid to the photographs of the founders while also remembering their work and efforts for the college.
A statue of a donor of the college, M Ahong, was also unveiled during the function. The financial donation for the statue was made in the name of late Amom Diamond Singh, a student of the college who died in a tragic accident, by his father Amom Netananda.
Along with this, the presidium members also released a souvenir of the college.
While delivering the keynote address, the Principal of the college K Jugeshore Singh spoke about the history of the college and how it came to be established.
The chief guest of the programme, Prof W Chandbabu Singh gave a motivational speech and encouraged students and teachers to work hard.
