State celebrates birth anniversary of PM Narendra Modi, Sewa Saptah observed

Celebrating the 70th birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sewa Saptah (Service Week) was observed in different parts of the State.
Rangkhung Village
A week-long celebration of Seva Saptah, the 70th birthday of  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was held today at Rangkhung Village.
The programme organised by BJP 53-Tamenglong Mandal was attended by Prof S Tikendra Singh, BJP Manipur Pradesh; Meinam Bharot Singh, former president, BJP Manipur Pradesh; Th Yumjao Singh, district in-charge Tamenglong and Huri Golmei, retd DFO, among others
The program began with the Rongmei Traditional Ho-hoing & hoisting of the flag, followed by welcome speech cum keynote address by Phunggan Phaomei, president BJP Tamenglong.
A total of 70 blankets were distributed to villages chairman, elders, widows and differently-abled persons by the dignitaries.
70 tree saplings were also planted.
Johnson Elangbam
In connection with Seva Saptah, social worker Johnson Elangbam distributed edible items such as rice, dal, oil, packaged salt and others for the occupants of Punya Orphan Home, Chingmeirong.
The social worker was accompanied by other BJP leaders.
Thoubal
BJP Manipur Pradesh former vice-president Thokchom Jadumani honoured around 700 elderly persons by presenting gifts yesterday at a function held as a part of ‘Seva Saptah’ at Khangabok Mayai Leikai Community Hall.    
The function organised by BJP Khangabok Mandal was attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh president S Tiken as the chief guest.
The function was also attended BJP Khangabok Mandal president L Tomba Khuman, Khangabok Zilla Parishad Member Kh Rajmohon, Khangabok Part-I GP pradhan nominee N Lakpa, Khangabok Part-II Up Pradhan Kh Robindro, BJP Manipur Pradesh state secretary Kh Basanta, Priyokumar and OBC Kishan Morcha in-charge L Chinjon.
It may be mentioned here that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been observing ‘Seva Saptah’ from September 14 to September 20 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17.  
Thoubal
Thoubal Kendra BJP former candidate L Basanta in collaboration with BJP Thoubal also observed Seva Saptah at Leitanthem Mandap, Thoubal Bazar.
The function was attended by BJP Thoubal Mandal president Kh Manglem, BJP state executive member L Basanta, BJP Thoubal district president Yumnam Kumarjit and general secretary Opendro.
As a part of the observance, elderly persons of the nearby areas were honoured by presenting gifts. Later, street vendors at the Thoubal market were presented food packets and also trees were planted at the surrounding areas of Thoubal Mella Ground.
Moreh
As part of 'Sewa Saptah', the BJP ST Morcha vice president and intending candidate for the Autonomous District Council (ADC) Chandel, from Moreh B Constituency, J Khongsai distributed 10 kgs of rice to families in Moreh B Constituency.
The distribution programme was conducted in association with Manipur Muslim Council Moreh, Gorkha Samaj and Al-Ameen Youth Welfare Association.
PMJAY health cards were also distributed to the beneficiaries during the programme.
Speaking at the event, finance secy of Election Commission, Mohan, stated that the distribution programme was initiated by J Khongsai as part of Sewa Saptah, to celebrate the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Khangabok
BJP Khangabok Mandal also observed Seva Saptah at the residence of Dr Khundrakpam Akoishana of Khangabok Meisanam Leikai. BJP flags were also hoisted at 13 Leikais of the Kendra.
The function organised by BJP Khangabok Mandal and BJP Manipur Pradesh state council member Dr Khundrakpam Akoshana was attended by BJP Thoubal district president Y Kumarjit, BJP Kisan Morcha ThoubaI District former president Kh Momon, Md Hamidur Rahman and Chouyaima Higher Secondary School Vice-principal Kh Radhamani.
Keirao
BJP Keirao Mandal, Imphal East observed Seva Saptah under the guidance of its MLA L Rameshowr by planting trees at Keirao Wangkhem hill. The programme was attended by BJP state secretary in-charge Kh Basanta, BJP Keirao Mandal president H Kanta and other party workers.    
Bishnupur
As part of the service week, Sekmai AC MLA  cum chairman of Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board Heikham Dingo planted tree saplings at the complex of India Peace Memorial, Maibam Lokpaching, today.
The programme organised by BJP OBC Morcha Manipur Pradesh was also attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh, OBC Morcha president, RK Nongdrenkhomba, secretary organisation, N Amarjit Singh, secretary administration, O Kumarjit and BJP Manipur Pradesh, Kishan Morcha, State secretary Ch Ibohal Singh among others.
Sewa Saptah was also observed at Salankonjil Bazar, Kumbi.
Noney
The 70th birth anniversary celebration of Prime Minister  Narendra Modi was held on September 17 at Longmai (Noney)-III, Community Hall.
The programme was organised by Scheduled Tribe  Morcha BJP Manipur Pradesh.
M Bharot Singh, ex-MLA, former President BJP Manipur Pradesh, D Stody, Vice president ST Morcha BJP Manipur Pradesh and Th Yumjao Singh, Sewa Saptah in charge Noney/Tamenglong attended the programme as  presidium members.
The programme began with a welcome address by Ningthaodai Gonmei, secretary, ST Morcha BJP Manipur Pradesh.
Distribution of CMHT cards to 15 people, 10 kgs of rice to 220 impoverished families by the dignitaries marked the occasion.
Hand sanitisers and facemasks were also distributed to all the participants.
Birthday cake cutting and tea party were also arranged.
The service week was also observed in other parts of the State.
