Two from Manipur shine at JEE Main

IMPHAL, Sep 12: Chetanna Rajkumari from Manipur, who scored 97.32 percentile in Paper 1 of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, 2020 has emerged as the State topper.
Another State lad, Tongbram Malemnganba Meitei scored 97.01 in the examination.
The NTA (National Testing Agency) declared the results of the examination yesterday.
This year, 24 students scored 100 percentile in the engineering entrance exam. NTA had conducted the JEE Main 2020 exam in January and from September 1 to 6 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 8.58 lakh candidates had registered for the JEE Main exam. The Paper 1 (BE/BTech) is for admission to engineering courses in IITs, NITs and Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).
Based on the results of the JEE-Main Paper 1 and Paper 2, the top 2.45 lakh candidates will be eligible to appear for the JEE-Advanced exam, which is a one-stop exam to get admission into the 23 premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). JEE-Advanced is scheduled to take place on September 27.
