WUM thanks

IMPHAL, Aug 26: The Workers' Union Manipur (WUM) has thanked the people of Manipur for acknowledging the hardships being faced by sanitary workers in keeping municipalities areas clean amid the pandemic.
A press release issued by WUM said that sanitary workers were distinguished as a possible spreader of the virus at one point of time by a section of the population.
Maintaining that most people seem to have changed their outlook to these frontliners who are working for a meagre salary to make ends meet, WUM said contentedly that locals of Kwakeithel Leimakhujam Leikai today helped sanitary workers in discarding garbage, apart from giving them refreshments.
It also said that the Government should encourage such humanitarian service rendered by this particular locality.
