KYKL observes “martyrs’ day”
IMPHAL, Aug 18: The proscribed KYKL observed its 27th martyrs’ day at its different military units and different places of WESEA today.
According to a press release issued by the outfit’s publicity and research secretary A Yaiphaba, the martyrs’ day was observed in commemoration of the supreme sacrifice made by revolutionaries of the land for an independent Kangleipak and to bring a new socio-economic and political structure in the land.
The martyrs’ day was observed with the objective of heralding a common political and economic life in WESEA.
The main function was held at MYL’s first battalion with its CO Captain Dhana and MFL/KCP CAS H Ibomcha as president and chief guest respectively.
MFL/KCP Captain Robin too attended the function as guest of honour.
KYKL Central Committee also paid fitting tributes to the ‘martyrs’.
Speaking at the gathering, KYKL Central Committee leaders hailed the frontline workers including healthcare workers, CSOs and others for their selfless service in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
They underscored the crucial importance of building a self-reliant economy in order to tide over such epidemics/pandemics.
They also talked about the need to revive the community values of the land, it conveyed.
They highlighted the need to take appropriate revolutionary steps in tune with the changing conditions.
At the MYL’s second and third battalions, the martyrs’ day observation was led by their respective COs namely Captain Suman and Chinguremba respectively, it added.
