IMPHAL, Aug 1: With more and more areas declared containment zones to contain or slow the spread of novel coronavirus, many students have stopped going for private tuitions fearing COVID infections.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, one student said that the coronavirus induced lockdown has also affected the student community severely as educational institutions have now been closed for almost 5 months.
To compensate for the loss, students opted for private tuition though facilities for online classes are available in the State, however, parents and guardians have now stopped their wards from venturing out considering the COVID situation in the State, she added.
It may be mentioned here that the first COVID-19 death of Manipur was reported on July 29 last. She then asked the State Government and department concerned to work harder for improving the education system in the State once the COVID pandemic ends.
