Noney, Jul 26: A team of officials from various departments led by AK Ranjit Kumar Singh, DRO Relief & Disaster Management GOM inspected the areas which were affected by a landslide that took place along NH-37.
The inspection drive was taken up in response to the statement issued by the All Tribal Rights Protection Forum Manipur (ATRPFM) & CSOs of Longmai Noney areas.
Out of some 30 houses including Longmai-3, Church, houses belonging to Rongphun Rongmei, Hosea Riamei, from Longmai Part-3, Meisithuiyang Panmei and G Kinthuan, of Khumji-2 (Lukhambi) were affected the most.
Ranjit Kumar Singh urged the owners of the high-risk houses to take shelter in some other places, saying that their houses might swipe away if the heavy rain continues.
Assuring to provide some relief materials to the affected villagers, he added that the matter will be discussed with the Chief Minister within two or three days.
Meanwhile, Mani Babu Sinha, Manager (P) SO Noney NHIDCL, said that they are planning to fill up the pothole from Imphal 0-point to Jiribam within this week if the weather condition improves.
He further said that they have repaired the road at their level best but heavy rainfall and plying of numerous heavy vehicles everyday interrupted the construction work.
