Held with drugs

IMPHAL, Jul 23: The Narcotics and Affairs of Border personnel arrested two persons along with 804 grams of brown sugar from Mahabali area this afternoon.
Briefing media persons at his office, SP NAB W Basu stated that specific information about the presence of some drug traffickers in and around Mahabali area was received and a team of NAB personnel along with women police personnel rushed to the spot and conducted frisking and checking at Mahabali near Nana Car Wash.
During frisking, the personnel detained two persons, one male and a female  who were seen moving in a suspicious manner.  When checking their belongings, the personnel recovered 804 grams of brown sugar at around 4 pm, he said.
The arrested persons have been identified as Denis Letjathang Chongloi (27) of H Khopibung village, Saikhul, Kangpokpi and Lalnu Touthang (42) of Paikoh village, Ukhrul, at present staying at Hatta Golapati.
A regular case has been registered against them at NAB Police Station Manipur for further investigation of the case under ND&PS Act, he said.
