LNC appreciates LCTC's efforts

IMPHAL, MAY 9: In the past two months, the Liangmai Central Task Committee (LCTC) has been rendering services to the stranded people of both Liangmai community and non-Liangmai elsewhere due to COVID-19 lockdown.
In this regard, the Liangmai Naga Council (LNC), the apex body of Liangmai community in Manipur , has expressed its appreciation to the LCTC members.
According to the LNC, the Committee was formed by Liangmai organizations including Liangmai Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR) or student body of the community, Liangmai Pui Baudi or Liangmai women organization, LNC and Liangmai Welfare Association (LWA) during the lockdown to help stranded Liangmai people.
It also said that “understanding their predicament that their savings/pocket money will not be sufficient during the lockdown, the Committee decided to help them by way of providing rations and cash”.
LCTC also immediately appointed nodal officers in every major city in India and started reaching out to people in need.
The LNC further said that LCTC also initialed crowd-funding and pulls in financial resources from across the community. “So far the LCTC extended helps to over 2,500 Liangmais and non-Liangmais, covering major cities such as Delhi, Chennai, Coimbatore, Mumbai etc.”, said the Liangmai body.
LCTC is also partnering with various government agencies and NGOs such as ‘Chennai 75’ and ‘Armour of Care’.
The team has also rendered services to the people stranded in Imphal, Nagaland and Assam and appealed to all concerned to continue extending co-operation and contribution towards the cause.
