Fresh disqualification petitions filed

IMPHAL, May 12: Fresh petitions for disqualification of four MLAs have been filed in the High Court of Manipur, said MLA K Meghachadra today.
Congress MLAs filed the petitions against four MLAs who were elected on Congress tickets but have been supporting the BJP led coalition Government, said Meghachandra at his official residence.
The four MLAs against whom petitions have been filed are Saitu AC MLA Ngamthang Haokip, Lamlai AC MLA Ksh Biren, Wangjing-Tentha AC MLA Paonam Brojen and Kakching AC MLA Yengkhom Surchandra.
He filed the disqualification petition against MLA Ngamthang Haokip, MLA O Henry filed petition against MLA Ksh Biren, MLA K Govindas filed petition against MLA Paonam Brojen and MLA DD Thaisi filed petition against MLA Y Surchandra, said K Meghachandra.
All four petitions were filed by Senior Advocate, former Advocate General High Court of Manipur, N Ibotombi as their counsel.
Three more petitions will be filed against three MLAs - Sanasam Bira of Kumbi AC, O Lukhoi of Wangoi AC and Ginsuanhau of Singhat AC "who also won the election on Congress ticket but are supporting the BJP led State collation Government," said Meghachandra.
It may be mentioned that the Speaker Tribunal on May 8 had reserved the judgment order in connection with disqualification cases filed against seven MLAs elected on Congress tickets.
