Mother's Day
IMPHAL, May 10: Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) celebrated Mother's Day by distributing relief materials to women from weaker section at Heibunglok, Chandel district today.
MSCW Chairperson Dr Binota Meinam and members-T Chuongsin Koireng, Tiningpham Monshang and Lourembam Dayabati presented edible items to the women of the village.
The Mother's Day was celebrated by distributing the relief materials to the women to ease the hardship they are facing amidst lockdown, said Dr Binota.
The Senapati District Women’s Association (SDWA) in collaboration with the Naga Women’s Union (NWU) celebrated Mother's Day at SDWA Hall today, reports our correspondent. At the event, Rev Kaba, executive secretary, Maram Naga Baptist Association, Asha Wungnam, president, NWU and many women activists and union members held prayers for humanity's triumph over COVID-19.
Addressing the gathering, Asha stated that 'the Mother's Day is being celebrated across hill districts seeking God's blessing and protection from the dreaded COVID-19 disease.'
Rev Kaba, prayed and encouraged all to unite against the virus and follow safety instructions and guidelines.
Praising the role women and mothers play in the society, Rev Kaba said the world at present needs God loving mothers, who are disciplined, have unconditional love and affection for all.
The gathering also held prayers for all mothers, orphans, widows, widowers who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
