Lin misinterpretes Mayang: KKL

Condemning renowned model Lin Laishram for her recent statement that claimed 'Meities are racist for calling mainland Indians Mayang,' Kangleipak Kanba Lup, Manipur has clarified that she had misinterpreted the term Mayang.
It may be noted that in a video that has surfaced on Facebook, Lin Laishram can be heard saying "We are equally racist" for Meiteis call them (mainland Indians) Mayang. She was speaking at an event at Pune recently when she made the comment, said KKLM.
Mayang is a collective term used by Meities to describe any mainland Indian irrespective of their State and caste. "It is most unfortunate that she not only failed to understand the term Mayang but went further to misinterpret the meaning to heap insult upon the entire race to which she was born into," said KKLM accusing Lin Laishram of justifying the insults and racists comments made towards North-Eastern people just because 'she believes that we are racists.'
Lin should apologise to the people of Manipur and the rest of North East people within a week. A police complaint will be filed for demeaning a people of Manipur and North East if she fails to apologise, said KKLM.
