IMPHAL, Apr 28: The All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) has extended financial aid to active member of AMWJU and staff reporter of Kangla Pao, Ayekpam Birjit, who was hospitalised owing to personal health conditions.
Birjit, who has been working in the field of journalism for more than 15 years, was taken to RIMS hospital in the wee hours today, a statement issued by AMWJU said.
Additionally, Imphal Times also extended financial aid of Rs 5000/- while United Committee Manipur (UCM) and DESAM have promised to supply 2 units and 1 unit respectively of blood which will be required for his treatment, it said.
