Khongjom Day wishes

IMPHAL, Apr 22 : Governor Najma Heptullah has extended greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Khongjom Day which is celebrated every year on April 23, remembering the sacrifices of the forefathers who died fighting against the invading British.
The Governor, while paying homage to the heroes reminded all to renew their vows to preserve and defend the sovereignty of the country and to strive for peace and harmony amongst the people.
Paying tribute to Paona Brajabashi and other brave heroes of Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren also greeted the people and sent message of unity and cooperation and to be equally brave and resurgent in facing the challenges posed by COVID-19.
MP (Lok Sabha) Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Speaker Y Khemchand Singh, Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh and Sagolband A/C MLA RK Imo Singh also sent warm greetings to the people.
