AMSU launches market drive

IMPHAL, Mar 31: The All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) carried out a drive at Thangal Bazaar today and forced wholesale shop-keepers, who did not follow Government's guideline to keep a price list of commo-dities, to do the needful.
During the drive, AMSU volunteers also ensured that people who came to buy goods as well as the shopkeepers practice social distancing.
The volunteers also recommended the shopkeepers to make it known how much stocks they have in their shops.
Furthermore, the AMSU team also urged authorities concerned to provide masks to the people operating shops and the workers carrying goods.
AMSU witnessed that officials and staff of Imphal West DC stationed at Thangal Bazaar were working diligently to ensure that no shops charged more for their goods from the customers.
On the other hand, the general public also made it clear to the AMSU volunteers that they are appre- hensive about whether the stocks of goods and essential commodities will last long.
