Water scarcity in Imphal !

IMPHAL, Mar 26 : A crisis of water scarcity in the State capital amidst COVID-19 lockdown has left people in a peril. The unavailibility of water for last 2 months in most parts of Imphal city has become a huge concern, stated a press release issued by ex-MLA L Ibomcha.
 Authority concerned has not taken up any step to supply water to general public, except for once a month, for only half an hour early morning.
All supplying points of the department is also on lockdown and unable to supply water to private tankers for sale, it said.
In this regard, it has been pointed out that several water supply pipes have been laid down recently in many parts of urban city, by contractors for their benefits only.
The authority concerned is requested to look seriously into the matter, for resuming of water supply within 24 hrs to public, in order to avoid severe water scarcity at this juncture of COVID-19 pandemic.
