Pan India bicycle rider reaches Manipur

IMPHAL, Mar 21: Amidst the novel Coronavirus pandemic in the country and many parts of the world, Revanth Sai is making a bike trip aimed at covering all the States and Union territories to become the youngest rider and set a Guinness World Record, as well as to create awareness on various Governmental schemes taken up in the country.
The 19 year old youth from Pondicherry, who set off on his journey from February 10 this year, has so far covered 8 States, including Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura before reaching Imphal today.
Briefing media persons at Manipur Press Club, Revanth Sai claimed that the Coronavirus outbreak throughout the world has given a huge impact on his journey. He said that most people whom he met during his journey tried to avoid him and he is also facing a problem in finding hotels to stay.
While stating that he will continue his journey by taking utmost care to prevent contacting the virus, the bike rider claimed that he used to obtain relevant documents from the Government authorities of the respective States he passed, to prove that he is free from the virus.
He informed that the main objective of his trip is to create awareness on Governmental schemes and programmes like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and Swach Bharat among the general masses.
Saying that the bike trips organised in India in the past were made by people aged over 19, Revanth Sai maintained that he is also attempting to become the youngest rider and set a Guinness World Record.
He added that he will explore Manipur before beginning his trip for Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Bihar in the next few days.
