Boy drowns

Jiri, Mar 19: A 19- year old boy drowned in a pond at Ningshingkhul Biodiversity Park, here, today while taking a bath.
The boy has been identified as Fokhrul, s/o late Abdul Hasim of Aglapur village in Jiribam.
The incident took place at around 1.30 pm today when the victim went to Ningsingkhul pond for taking a bath. Attempts to rescue him failed.
Report said that the body of the victim was fished out 30 minutes later and doctors at CHC, Jiribam declared him brought dead.
It might be recalled here that Aglapur Village is adjacent to Ningsingkhul Bio- Diversity Park and the villagers there often go to the said pond for taking bath due to water scarcity in their village.
