IMPHAL, Mar 19 : Taking serious note of the report that some students from the North East region have been subjected to such derisive terms as coronavirus, the secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad of Punjab-Chandigarh has strongly condemned the profiling of North East students and warned them to refrain from such things.
In a statement, the ABVP leader, Chiranshu Rattan said that they have come to learn that some people of Chandigarh have been making fun of the North East students addressing them as Chinese, Chinky, coronavirus and boycotting them and urged all people to understand the geography of India well.
ABVP believes that all the people of North East India are children of the country and addressing them so derogatorily could be a conspiracy to break the country, added the statement.
Chiranshu further said that if any student of North East India have any problem, they can immediately contact the local Unit of ABVP and gave the contact details as M-9383999992 and [email protected].
