Chairman of Charoi Chakotlong, Ephrim Gangmei has urged the State Government and authorities concerned to book and punish Jesse Kamei, Jangamlung Panmei and Gaikhangthai Panmei as per the law of the land for allegedly abusing village leaders during a general body meeting of Chakanlong ( Charoi Chakotlong) Part I & II on February 18 last.
Speaking to media persons during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club, today, Ephrim Gangmei narrated that the meeting was convened by so called village secretary, Jesse Kamei at Tupul Community Hall.
The agendas of the meeting include village administration of Charoi Chakotlong Part I & II, dispute of khullakpaship etc, he said contending that Jangamlung Panmei and Jesse Kamei started to speak abusive language against those who argued on the agendas when the meeting commenced.
Claiming that Jangamlung Panmei along with his cousin brother Gaikhangthai Panmei physically assaulted him and two other village leaders for arguing with them on the agendas, he alleged that Jesse Kamei sided with the perpetrators instead of solving the issue.
Jesse Kamei even displayed his firearm and challenged the public and rival party using vulgar language, he further claimed adding that the apology demanded by the victimised group was also rejected by the convenor of the meeting.
He then demanded the State Government and authorities concerned to look into the matter at the earliest.
