UFO opens branch at Kakching

Kakching, Feb 7: The Universal Friendship Organization (UFO) opened its 228th unit/branch at Kakching Khunuta Ching today.
The event was held at the CESCA Hall located at Yumbi Macha High School Kakching Ground.
The function was attended by Kakching Assembly Constituency MLA Y Surchandra, senior citizen Ksh Dinachandra, Kakching Municipal Council Ward No 10 Councillor Ksh Anita and All Manipur Apunba Nupi Samaj president Th Ramani as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively. Keirao Assembly Constituency MLA L Rameshwor also attended the function and extended aid to the organization.
MLA Surchandra in his speech said that Meiteis are "laid-back by nature" and expressed the need to change this outlook and inculcate work values.
He also encouraged all members of UFO under its 228 units to participate in various skill development training programmes like craftsmanship, fish farming and agricultural farming etc. This will help improve the State’s economy and make it self reliant, he said.
