IMPHAL, Feb 17: Following the resounding success in the recent Delhi Assembly election where it scored its third consecutive win, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is all set to field its candidates in the coming Manipur State Assembly election.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, AAP president Thoudam Manihar narrated that during the run up to the Delhi election, even Prime Minister Narendra Modi campaigned for the BJP, but in vain as AAP still scored a landslide victory and seized power for the third consecutive term.
Seeing how the learned people of Delhi have put their faith in the party and its tireless efforts to improve the living conditions of the poor populace, resulting in the party's victory, the AAP now wants to undertake similar positive development for the people of Manipur, he added.
Saying that AAP will work to ensure employment for the talented youth of Manipur, Manihar admitted that the Chief Minister also undertakes many welfare schemes for the youth of the State. However, there is something illogical in asking youth who are searching for jobs to earn money, to become entrepreneurs on their own and provide self employment. The party wants to bring free water and uninterrupted power to Manipur, Manihar claimed, reminding all that AAP is a political party for the people.
