Police detain violators

IMPHAL, Dec 31: Two hundred and ninety one persons were detained and released after warning during a drive conducted by the Police Department today against violators of guidelines and restrictions issued by the State Government and the State Disaster Management  Authority in connection with COVID-19 pandemic.
Altogether a sum of Rs 38,750 (thirty eight thousand seven hundred and fifty) were collected as fines.
The Police Department warned that the violators shall be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act 2005 and other appropriate laws.
