Old age pension

IMPHAL, Dec 30: Deputy Speaker and MLA of  Mayang Imphal K Robindro AC distributed pension  for 4 months from his monthly remuneration to 200 aged persons of his Constituency today at his residence at Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai.
In today's event, pensions were distributed to aged residents of Bengool, Loukok and Wangban starting from polling station 23/20 till 23/26 who are deprived of State and National Old Age Pension Schemes.
Addressing the gathering, Robindro said that he started giving pension to the aged persons of the Constituency from his salary with the support of BJP Mayang Imphal Mandal. He also stated that during his 4 years of tenureship as an MLA he has been taking up many developmental works earnestly in order to make Mayang Imphal a developed one.
Mayang Imphal Water Supply Scheme started during 2008-09 and which was left incomplete for many years is now in an advanced stage of completion and will be ready for inauguration before March 2021, he added.
He also asserted that the project to provide clean drinking water to all the households is nearing completion and all the households will get proper water supply soon. The black topping and repairing of roads is in progress and the 2 kilometre long road of Bengool which was flooded will be repaired soon, he assured.
He further appealed not to bring in petty politics while taking up developmental works and instead of criticizing each other's work, one should extend support in the interest of the people at large.
The Deputy Speaker extended warm wishes to all the communities of Manipur for a peaceful and joyful new year.
Councillor of Mayang Imphal Municipal Council Ward no 2, Md Rahul Khan along with the officials of BJP Mayang Imphal Mandal also attended the event.
