Remanded

IMPHAL, Dec 31: Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West remanded a 30-year-old identified as Laishram Rishikumar alias Muni (30) of Tera Sadokpam Leikai to 3 days police custody over the death of his wife.
Laishram Rishikumar was arrested yesterday evening based on a complaint lodged by the elder brother of his wife (victim) with the Lamphel Police Station.
Investigating Officer of the case through APP submitted that Laishram Rishikumar has admitted to the charges levelled against him and revealed that on December 27 at around 9.30 pm he  had a quarrel with his wife (deceased) and also tried to beat her with a stick. The next day at around 1.30 am, she was found hanging from a mango tree near a pond in their property.
After hearing the submissions, the Court remanded Laishram Rishikumar to three days police custody till January 2.
