JIRIBAM, Oct 4: The 8th Felicitation Ceremony, 2020 organised by Nongthangleima, an art and culture organization, was held today at the Bantarapur High School in Cachar.
During the programme, the meritorious students of Class X and XII Examinations were felicitated and conferred with the Haorongbam Birendra Singha Memorial Award.
The highest scoring student in MIL from Banskandi High School, Ranipur, Y Tanushree was also awarded with cash prize of Rs 2000 along with the Haorongbam Birendra Singha Memorial Award.
The function was attended by Nongthangleima president H Bimal Singha, retd ACS Addl Secretary, Assam Arambam Nanda Babu Singha, Manipur Benevolent Society Silchar president Saikhom Kamla Kanta Singha, Sundari GP president N Momota Singha, S Menjar Singha, Ng Nabani Singha and M Gunabati Singha as president, chief guest, special guest and guests of honour respectively.
The lighting of the lamp was done by the chief guest and welcome address delivered by L Dorendrajit Singha.
Arambam Nanda Babu Singha in his speech encouraged the students to lead a life free of bad habit and vices and to work for the overall welfare of the society.
Speaking to TSE mediaperson, Nongthangleima gen secy Laishram Bimal Singha expressed that the function was organized to felicitate and motivate the students who passed the Class X and XII examinations in the 1st division and also the highest scorer in MIL of Assam's board exam.
