CEO reviews

IMPHAL, Oct 26: Chief Electoral Officer PK Singh today chaired a meeting and reviewed the preparations being made for the by-election to four Assembly segments scheduled on November 7.
The review meeting held at the CEO’s Lamphelpat office was attended by Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police concerned.
The meeting discussed about issuance of postal ballots to disabled and senior citizens aged above 80 and also the preparations being done at polling stations.
Another key agenda of the meeting was ensuring adherence to social distancing norms by voters on the polling day and arrangement of resting place for voters as the by-election will be held amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Altogether 11 candidates are vying for the four vacant seats of Wangoi, Lilong, Wangjing-Tentha and Saitu.
