Dilip Saikia arrives to join poll campaign

IMPHAL, Oct 25: BJP’s star campaigner for the by-election Dilip Saikia who is also a National general secretary of the party arrived here today.
Soon after his arrival, Dilip Saikia who is also a Member of Parliament held  a joint meeting with Chief Minister N Biren, BJP Manipur Pradesh president S Tikendra, chief spokesman Ch Bijoy and many office bearers of the party in the Durbar Hall of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
The meeting deliberated on the party’s strategy for the by-election.
Dilip Saikia and BJP leaders of the State also discussed about facilitating smooth coordination among party workers and supporters so as to ensure victory of candidates sponsored and supported by the party.
This was followed by another meeting of the party’s election in-charge and election agents.
Dilip Saikia who was recently named one of the the BJP National Secretaries would address two election rallies of BJP candidates Oinam Lukhoi and P Brojen tomorrow.
Oinam Lukhoi is contesting the by-election in Wangoi AC and P Brojen in  Wangjing-Tentha AC.
He would address two other election rallies at Lilong and Charhajare on October 27 in favour of Independent candidate Abdul Nasir (Lilong AC) and BJP candidate Ngamthang Haokip (Saitu AC).
Notably, BJP has been openly supporting Independent candidate Abdul Nasir in Lilong AC without fielding any candidate of their own.  
Dilip Saikia would leave Imphal for Delhi on October 28. BJP’s Ginsuanhau has already been declared elected from Singnat AC unchallenged.
