2 die after catbite

IMPHAL, Oct 19 : Two persons including a minor boy passed at RIMS yesterday, said the Western Sporting Club in a statement today and added that they were bitten by a cat some time back.
The minor, Irengbam Khoijomba Singh (4), s/o I Keshorjit died on the intervening night of October 17 and 18 while Konthoujam Ramesh Singh (29) died on October 18 morning, said the club. The two were from Ngairangbam Awang Maning Leikai, Konthoujam AC.
Stating that they had not taken anti-rabies vaccine after thye were bitten by the cat, the club appealed to people not to take such bites lightly and to take the prescribed dosage of anti-rabies vaccine if they are bitten by cats or any other warm blooded animals.
