DESAM urges
IMPHAL, Oct 14 : The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has submitted a memorandum to the Chairman of Manipur Human Rights Commission to introduce and adopt a new penal law to check cheating in examinations.
In the memorandum, the student body asserted that there are no specific provisions and penalties for question paper leakage, copying and impersonating in examinations and loitering near the examination centres in the State.
DESAM opined that Manipur Elementary & Secondary Education Act 1972 and the Manipur Higher Secondary Education Act 1992 which govern BOSEM and COHSEM respectively may be amended to streamline the education system and check the usage of unfair means in the examination.
