IMPHAL, Sep 28: Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has greeted the people of Mani-pur on the occasion of Mera Chaoren Houba, 2019, which falls on September 29.
In her message, Dr Najma conveyed that Mera Chaoren Houba, a traditional festival of Manipur is celebrated on the advent of Mera-tha (September-October).
Stating that the festival promotes unity and integrity amongst all the communities settled in the State, the Governor urged all to celebrate the festival in its true spirit and preserve the age old tradition of peaceful co-existence.
Chief Minister N Biren also extended his warm greeting to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Mera Chaoren Houba.
The month of Mera brings back the age old tradition of love and brother- hood between the hill people and valley people of Manipur, said N Biren and prayed for the festival to further strengthen the inseparable bond shared since time immemorial between all communities in the State.
