Shyam pays tribute

IMPHAL, Sep 28: CAF & PD Minister has offered his tribute to social activist and freedom fighter Jananeta Hijam Irabot on his 123rd birth anniversary, which falls on September 30.
Apart from having a versatile personality, Irabot was also a true revolutionary and his contribution in the fields of literature, sports and social upliftment for the downtrodden are noteworthy, reads a message of Karam Shyam.
The Minister also said that  Irabot had played significant role during the second Nupi Lan, 1939, peasant movement in Cachar and functioning of Nikhil Manipur Mahasabha.
Extending his best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Jananeta Hijam Irabot's birth anniversary, Karam Shyam urged all to try to imbibe the good qualities of the great leader.
