Debate competition conducted

IMPHAL, Sep 20 : Coalition for Indigenous' Rights Campaign (CIRCA) Youth Front organised its 4th State level open debate competition at Imphal College yesterday on the topic, "Manipur na Pre Merger Political Status ta Hanjinba Ngamlaba Matamdata Manipur-India conflict Wakheinaba Ngamgani".
Speaking to media persons, one of the executive members of CIRCA said that the debate competition was organised prior to the observation of Repentance Day on September 21 and also to sensitize the public on the political status of Manipur before it merged with India and prior to the eruption of several issues which threatens the integrity of the Sate and the indigenous people including the ILP, border pillar issue etc. Royal Academy of law, Oinam Principal Irengbam Jugeshor was the speaker of the debate competition while Advocate, Manipur High Court Yumnam Romila, Department of Law, MU faculty Dr Sapam Dilipkumar and Imphal College (Department of English) Associate Professor P Sanjeev judged the competition. 34 members of CIRCA took part in the competition with eight on the opposition side and the remaining 26 on the supporting side. Anamika H of Thangmeiband, A Sunandi of Kumbi college and T Nongthangleima of DM College (Arts) scored the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
